Better than expected
It didnt have all the small tweakable things about it like another one I bought at the same time, but it is far sturdier built and I like the design better. I used this one in my basement, as I trust it a little more and it is very loud. The other I have under my sink. It's easy to use. It tested very well with water. It's small size and long lasting battery life made it nice and easy to use with little stress needed for a while.

The extension detection is what brought me back time and time again. In the past 20 years, I have purchased more than 10, and the quality and design have stayed the same. Please don't ever change it, as the build quality and functionality just work. I have one installed next to the water heater, washer, and kitchen sink for all my rental units. It has saved me tons of money on water damage.

Worth every penny
This is a must have if you have water in your basement the alarm is load and will wake you up if you’re pump goes out and your water is starting to fill up the basement.

A low-battery alarm would be nice.
I bought two of these, one behind my fridge and one under my water heater. If I touch the contacts with my fingers, it will ring. I wish it had a low-battery alarm though.

Great, Versatile, and Modifiable Sensor
This thing is awesome. You can take the sensor leads from the bottom and stick them anywhere you want up to a distance of about 5-6 ft from the speaker box. I love this thing. If I ever work on plumbing and want to be assured that i didn't leave a leak, I place this device in the area I was working, and just take it away a few days later after I"m sure my job was waterproof. I just recently modified this alarm by soldering the leads to 2 probes that I inserted into my main sewer line which recently backed up. It made for a relatively quick and very reliable sensor to let me know if my main sewer line is starting to back up again. I couldn't find any other device that i could place in my line-nothing compatible was readily available on line. One of the sensor leads I soldered to a bold that was placed in the clean out cap, and I made it watertight. The other sensor lead was soldered to a stainless steel nail that probes into my sewer line from the top, and is again, a watertight entry, with a rubber seal and a screw strap securing it tightly in place.

Perfect alarm. Loud. Easy to use.
I’ve been using for a month in the basement of a large home. Bought it for the sump pump area but first used it due to a toilet randomly leaking. Alarm was loud enough to hear it upstairs. Great product.

Very reliable water alarm
We've used one of these for 5 years to detect water seeping into the basement. It is absolutely reliable. We can hear the alarm on the 1st floor because the sound comes through the heating ducts. I'm not sure it tells you when the battery is low; you should test it periodically by setting it in a few drops of water. We just bought another one to put by the water heater.

Peace of mind!
If you have a basement like mine that requires a sump pump- this little device can be a LIFESAVER! Whether due to power outage or simply your pump quitting, it will let you know and hopefully give you time to react accordingly if you planned ahead. I had this same exact device 14 years ago and it saved me from my basement being flooded! Could have ruined a bunch of antiques.
